Tips for Safely Replacing a Flat Tire

At Audi Pensacola, we encourage customers to keep a wrench, inflated spare tire and jack in their trunks, ready to handle any flat tire emergency. If your tire blows out on the road, reduce your speed immediately and look for a nearby paved parking lot or quiet side street as a safe place to replace the malfunctioning tire with the spare.

Put a wedge against the opposite tire, loosen the lug nuts, then jack up the car about six inches above the ground. Unscrew and remove the lug nuts, then pull the flat tire off the hub. Align the spare tire with the exposed bolts and position the spare in place with the lug nuts. Lower the jack and tighten the nuts, replace the hubcap, and check the pressure of the spare.

Place the flat tire and tools in the trunk, then head to our Audi parts and service department for a repair or replacement.
